Welcome to the Farm

About Us

In 2018, we made our dream of farm living a reality. Almost two years earlier the Lord led us to purchase a farmhouse and cattle ranch that had been abandoned for many years. At the time, we weren’t exactly sure the direction we would go with the farm but things slowly fell into place.  The farmhouse was originally built in 1901 and we did a complete renovation, leaving many original features of the house. The house quickly became a home. We also renovated the barn and little by little got the land back to beautiful pastures and woodlands.

We are learning everything we can about our farm and we hope to see it used for many purposes in the future. For now, we have a garden in which we enjoy harvesting fruits and vegetables for our family during the spring and summer. We have a flock of chickens that produce the most delicious eggs. And in the Fall, you can find us harvesting pecans and selling them at our roadside stand. Though it’s hard work, our family enjoys everything about life on the farm and we look forward to the future of Heritage Farm and Forest.

So why Christmas Trees?

Trees have always been a “thing” for us. We have always enjoyed learning about trees, planting them, watching them grow. So, it was only natural for us to want to plant more trees on our farm. The farm already had pines, oaks and a Pecan orchard. But we just felt led to do something else. That’s when the dream of a Christmas Tree Farm came about.

We planted our first Christmas Tree Forest in the Fall of 2020 (with the most amazing help and support of friends and family). The trees take a few years to grow so we anticipate that our community will be able to add “choose-and-cut” Christmas Trees in 2025. Until then, we offer Pre-Cut Fraser Fir Christmas trees from North Carolina. To learn more about our other farm adventures, browse our website, follow us on Instagram (@heritage.farmandforest) and STAY TUNED for more information about upcoming events.

We are so thankful for the love and support of our family and friends through this adventure!

-The Ellingtons

Where once there were thorns, cypress trees will grow.

Where nettles grew, myrtles will sprout up.

These events will bring great honor to the Lord’s name;

they will be an everlasting sign of his power and love.”
